Womack Restaurants is a successful restaurant franchisee based in Terre Haute Indiana. We have restaurants in Missouri, Kansas, Ohio, Oklahoma and Indiana with plans to develop and open more stores and continue to grow our company.
The Womack team has operated franchises in both Family Dining and QSR for 25 years, beginning with a group of IHOP Restaurants and now operating two concepts, Popeyes and MOD Pizza. Company president Scott Womack started out in the restaurant business as an IHOP franchisee in 1990 and purchased his first group of Popeyes in 2014. With integrity high on his list of operating principles, Scott’s is an ownership that actively manages the company and supports its Managers as they pursue challenge, opportunity and personal growth.
Womack Restaurants has been repeatedly recognized for its operations excellence, and Scott Womack has been a committed participant in franchise leadership. Womack Restaurants is committed to community engagement and partnership, as well as connecting with our country’s leadership.
Randall (Randy) A. Burns, CPA
Chief Financial Officer
Randall (Randy) A. Burns, CPA, is the Chief Financial Officer. Mr. Burns has over 35 years of financial experience. Previous to joining Womack Restaurants, Inc. in early 2014, he served 16 years as Director of Business Affairs at two Indiana school districts; Clay Community Schools and Greenwood Community School Corporation. Prior to that he served 11 years as Vice President/Controller at Riddell National Bank. He began his career with 5 years at a CPA firm, Sackrider and Company, Inc., in Terre Haute, IN.
Mr. Burns is responsible for all aspects of the accounting functions and financial reporting.
Vice President, Operations
Mike Meling is the Vice President for the Womack Restaurant group and is responsible for leading the strategic direction of the Popeyes brand. Mike joined Womack Restaurants in August of 2003 as a District Manager for IHOP owned by Womack Restaurants. Mike quickly moved up in the IHOP brand to be the Director of Operations for Womack Restaurants. Mike was the Director of Operations for Womack Restaurants until Womack Restaurants sold the franchisee and purchased Popeyes in Kansas City Missouri.
Mike helped expand our market to dozens of locations across the Midwest. Mike is an accomplished restaurant veteran, bringing more than 30 years of restaurant operations and management experience to the Popeyes franchisee.
Mike has a Bachelor of Science degree in restaurant management from Southern Illinois University. Mike also was the President of Alpha Tau Omega. Mike resides in Fort Wayne with his wife Shannon.
Vice President of Human Resources
Sherry Lang is the Vice President of Human Resources and brings over 23 years diverse HR experience and 17 of those years she has served as a member of the executive management committees. Sherry has extensive knowledge of business operations as well as expertise in all areas of Human Resources.
Prior to joining Womack Restaurants Sherry served as executive team member and the Director of Human Resources for various industries including Insurance, Software and Warehousing/Logistics. She has directed and overseen full HR infrastructures, including policy and procedure development, performance management, employee relations, payroll and benefit administration, union prevention, legal defense, recruiting and selection and performance and compensation management. Sherry has developed and provided coaching and training for both management and employees in multiple industries.
In addition, Sherry was the developer and designer of an HR Onboarding Software platform that was fully integrated with E-verify and customizable to outside companies. The software she developed was recently sold to a large software company. She has extensive hands on knowledge of HRIS systems, software development, system implementation, integrations with other programs as well as software training and support.
